BUSY BEE! For the Busy me! Best Sandwhiches in San Pedro

The Best Sandwhiches! Oh! Yes they are!

Most of us have tried a Busy Bee sandwhich by now but, maybe some of you haven't.
Its a little hole in the wall Market slash Deli But hey nothing compared to the Food. I am a busy man I must say but that doesnt stop me from driving all the way down to San Pedro with my team members for a good bite to eat.

If you don't like to wait in long lines I recommend phoning in ahead or getting one of the cheaper already made sandwhiches in the basket to avoid the lines.

Ive tried the

Cold Turkey Pastrami *****
Hot Pastrami *****
Belly Buster *** (a little too much for me)
Premade basket sandwhich ****
Cold Turkey avocado ****

Overall I know many people have had a great experience here. Of course there is no seating and the sandwhiches get soggy rite away so I recommend sitting at a nearby park or rushing home to eat them.

Busy Bee leaves a lot of clues outside to entice people inside for a look. The street is usually filled with vehicles from the gas company, UPS, a fire engine or two, plus an LAPD motorcycle, which tells you that the people that work in San Pedro eat there, and that means its good.

They are open Mon-Sat closed Sun.
Hours 9:00-6:00

Raffaello Ristorante said to be one of the Best Italian in San Pedro

Rated 4.5 stars on Yelp.com out of 5 stars based on 24 reviews

Its always hard to find a good place to eat, especially when your in a rush.

Raffaelo's is not located in the fancy area it should be. But if your not picky on location its everything you could ask for.
The home cooking ambiance makes you feel at home.

you get complimentary brushetta and the customer service is terrific. If your lucky you will get a singer.

My assistant quotes: "I have been there for a banquet party for a friends graduation. Everything was rich and creamy and full of flavor. I would love to eat there again!"

Point Fermin History San Pedro

The first and last lighthouse-keepers at Point Fermin were Women. Mary and Helen Smith kept the light from December 15,1874, until 1882. Mary is listed as the official keeper.

Thelma and Juanita Austin assumed their Father’s position as a keeper in 1925, after both of their parent’s passed away. Thelma stayed until 1927, when the Los Angeles City Recreation and Parks Department assumed care of the station and opened the grounds for use as a park.

The lighthouse was automated and powered by electricity, making a keeper no longer necessary.

South Bay's History of George H. Peck

George was just a regular railroad worker for the Southern Pacific. When he first laid eyes on San Pedro he decided he liked it's look and uniqueness. He ended up settling in San Pedro in 1886 and soon after became a wildly successful real estate developer.

Among his lots of transactions were the 1913 sale of 104 acres that would later become Fort MacArthur, and the sale of land in 1911 to Standard Oil for what eventually would become the Chevron refinery in El Segundo.

He also owned real estate in Manhattan Beach, developing the El Porto district, and streets were named after him and one of his daughters.

Unfortunately he died in 1940. Funds from his trust were used to make recreational facilities in San Pedro, including the four parks that were made from land that did once belong to him.

Also, in addition to the largest, Peck Park, for which he began to donate land in 1929, San Pedro's Rena, Alma, and Leland parks all came from Peck's Holdings and were named after his three children as well as some street names.

He might have just been a train conductor but he saw San Pedros Potential and became a successful developer in the 1900's.
